Rimini, October 18th 2016 - Celli Group, leader in beverage dispensing systems and equipment, announces that today has completed the acquisition of 100% of Cosmetal, a leader in Italy and Europe in producing drinking water dispensing solutions. Celli Group headquarters are located in Rimini and employs approximately 200 people in 4 production plants – two in Italy and two in the United Kingdom. It has doubled its turnover in the last four years and exports its products to over 100 countries throughout the world, confirming its position as one of the key global players in the sector. Cosmetal employs over 70 people, with a turnover of 13.5 million euros in 2015, of which 70% abroad, in particular in Europe, the United States and North Africa. The company boasts a complete and innovative range of products aimed at all commercial channels: office, domestic and HoReCa. The purchase of Cosmetal is part of a broader growth plan for the Celli Group, which is aiming to consolidate its leadership position not only in its own market but also in the water sector where it is already operative through its Alma division. The water sector, with the issues concerning its management, has become central within international debate, especially in developed countries where the trend for demand of water dispensers is growing by 9.6% a year according to the latest data supplied by Zenith International. It is forecast that over 4 millions units will be installed in 2018, with a heavy concentration in Europe and the United States. Water dispensers offer many advantages in terms of environmental sustainability, efficiency, practicality and economy, mitigating many of the problems linked to managing bottled drinking water (i.e. supply, transport, stocking, disposal of empties, waste etc.). This year, with this acquisition, Celli Group expects its turnover to increase to 80 million euros from the current 65, with the objective of reaching 100 million in the next three years. The number of employees will rise to nearly 300. “The acquisition of Cosmetal has particular strategic value for our Group – says Mauro Gallavotti, Celli Group CEO – as it allows us to gain an important position in the dynamic and rapidly expanding sector of water dispensers by merging two strong Italian businesses and developing important commercial and industrial synergies. We are glad to welcome Cosmetal into our Group“.
